How it works

From a few photos to a certified job

No phone calls and no waiting in for a quote. Everything starts on your phone.

  1. Step 1: Tell us about the job

Answer a few questions, one screen at a time, and add photos of the fuse box, the wall or the parking space.

  2. Step 2: Get your estimate, pick a date

See labour and materials in minutes. Accept, pay a 25% deposit and choose a date from our live calendar.

  3. Step 3: We check it, then do the work

Your IOW Electrical electrician checks the job before confirming, does the work and leaves your certificate.

No surprises, and it is in writing

Every estimate lists what it includes and what it assumes. If the job turns out different, you decide what happens next.

  • If anything differs from your description, you get a revised price before any work starts.
  • Decide not to go ahead at the revised price and we refund your deposit in full.
  • No extra work on the day without your approval.
  • Estimates over £1,000 including VAT are checked by Ashton before you see them.

Questions people ask

How do I get a price?

Tap Get my price, answer a few questions about your property and the job, and add photos. For most jobs your estimate arrives in minutes. Any estimate over £1,000 including VAT is checked by Ashton before you see it.

Is my estimate the final price?

Your price is an estimate built from your answers and photos. Your IOW Electrical electrician checks every job before it is confirmed, and if anything differs from your description you get a revised price before any work starts. If you decide not to go ahead at the revised price, we refund your deposit in full.

Could I be charged for extra work on the day?

Not without your approval. If your electrician finds something on the day that changes the job, they price it and send it to you to approve before doing any extra work.

How much is the deposit, and when do I pay the rest?

You pay a deposit of 25% of your estimate, including VAT, when you book. The balance is due when the job is complete.

Can I cancel after I have booked?

Yes. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from accepting to cancel. If you ask us to start within those 14 days and then cancel after work has begun, you pay only for the work done up to that point.

Who will do the work?

Your IOW Electrical electrician: a vetted, NICEIC registered local electrician. Once your job is confirmed you will see who is coming before the day.

Do you charge for travel?

No. There is no travel charge anywhere on the Island, from PO30 to PO41. The only exception is a private car park charge at the property, which is passed on at cost.

What guarantee do I get?

Every job carries a 2 year workmanship guarantee. You also get the right certificate for the work, and notifiable jobs are registered under Part P of the Building Regulations.
