Workplace and fleet EV charging

Chargepoints for staff, visitors and fleet vehicles at Isle of Wight workplaces, installed, tested and certified.

  • No travel charge on the Island
  • 2 year workmanship guarantee
  • Revised price before any work starts

What it is

Workplace charging means chargepoints at your premises for staff, visitors or your own fleet, sized to the number of vehicles and the supply you have.

Where several chargers share one supply, load management can share the available power between them.

The government Workplace Charging Scheme is open until 31 March 2027 for eligible businesses, charities, public sector organisations and small accommodation businesses with dedicated off road parking. See grant amounts

When you need it

  • Staff or visitors drive electric vehicles
  • You are moving vans or cars in your fleet to electric
  • You run accommodation and guests ask for charging
  • You are fitting out new premises or a new car park

What our standard job covers

Your estimate spells out exactly what your job includes, so you can check it before you accept.

  • Chargepoints sized for your site and vehicles
  • The supply and distribution to each chargepoint
  • Load management where it is needed
  • Testing, certification and the notification or application to SSEN

What can change the price

Your estimate itemises the labour, the materials, the certification and any waste removal, so you can see how the total is made up before you accept it. These are the things that most often affect it:

  • The number of chargepoints
  • The capacity of your supply, and whether SSEN needs to approve more
  • Distances, routes and any groundwork
  • Single or three phase supply

Your certificate

You receive an Electrical Installation Certificate for the new circuits, and we handle the notification or application to SSEN.

Can it be priced online?

We start online with photos of the parking area, your supply and your consumer units or distribution boards. Commercial quotes are always priced by Ashton within 2 working days.

No surprises

If anything differs from your description, you get a revised price before any work starts, and if you decide not to go ahead we refund your deposit in full.

Workplace EV charging: questions

Is there a grant for workplace chargers?

The government Workplace Charging Scheme is open until 31 March 2027. It requires an authorised installer, and we confirm for your site whether it can be claimed through us. Our grants page has the amounts.

Can you install chargers for our vans?

Yes. Tell us how many vehicles you have, where they park and how they are used, and we design the chargepoints around them.

Will we need a bigger supply?

Not always. Load management can share the power you have. Where more is needed, SSEN has to approve it, and we help with the application.
